Dryad's Orchard Conditioning Pomade is made with soft, creamy fair trade shea butter from the vitellaria nilotica sub species of the Karite tree, along with argan oil and elderberry, apple and mango extracts.

To use the pomade, put a little on the palm of one hand using a clean, dry fingertip, rub your palms together and then touch all your fingertips to your palms. You’ll have a thin film of pomade on your fingertips. Run this through the ends of your hair, touch fingertips to palms again and run through the mid-lengths, then one more time and run through the crown.

For a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment, apply a little extra half an hour before you shampoo your hair, or the night before if you like. If you’re treating your hair overnight, we suggest protecting your pillow with an old t-shirt (gentler for your hair than a towel). Then shampoo and condition the hair as usual.

The pre-shampoo treatment protects the hair from becoming waterlogged (when the hair shaft is waterlogged, it swells, creating outward pressure on the cuticle, leaving the hair porous and vulnerable to tangling and breakage).

While the hair is still damp, try running another thin film of the pomade through it to prepare it for styling. In between shampoos, if the weather or winter heating is making your hair feel dry, you can run a little more pomade through as needed.

Dryad's Orchard Pomade may also be used as an emollient cream for rough, dry skin and is especially helpful for keeping hands moisturised in cold winter weather.
